Committees

CCNNA has standing and need-specific committees to serve the organization. Both Board members and residents not on the Board can serve on committees. These committees are the backbone of the organization and help carry on the business of the association. The following are the current committees:

Zoning/Development Committee
The Development/Zoning Committee is focused on new developments and zoning proposals within the neighborhood as well as City proposed changes to the zoning code that may impact Cherry Creek North.  The committee meets with the City staff and developers and other members of the community to discuss proposals for new developments and rezoning applications.  The committee also reviews liquor license applications, Board of Adjustment appeals, variance requests and similar applications and seeks to represent the interest of immediate neighbors and the neighborhood in having a voice.  The committee often negotiates good neighbor agreements to address concerns as the applications are processed and issues approval notices or, in some cases, leverages neighborhood voices in opposition of proposals that are regarded by the majority of neighbors to have the potential of negatively impacting the neighborhood.  
 
Communications/Website/Social Media 
The communications committee of CCNNA is busy! They oversee all of the CCNNA communications to residents in the neighborhood and beyond. The committee seeks to connect, inform, and educate residents with relevant information that affects the Cherry Creek North neighborhood, including authoring a quarterly newsletter, sending eblast emails for issues that are of immediate interest, keeping the CCNNA website up to date and authoring posts on social media such as the CCNNA Instagram and Facebook pages.
 
Special Events (Dines Out/Sip and Savor, Lecture Series and Special Events) 
CCNNA holds several events for its members each year.  These events include Sip and Savor (an event which raises money for selected charities and hosts a great party at the rooftop of Room and Board), Dines Out (which are dinner events at specific restaurants), lecture series on topics of interest and other special events. The events are held by committees of devoted members who volunteer their time to help.  
 
Membership
The CCNNA membership committee works to recruit new members and keeps CCNNA residents and businesses informed and engaged through community outreach and participation. Many activities are for paid members only and the Membership Committee keeps the membership lists updated and reminds members when it is time to annually renew the memberships. To reach CCNNA membership click on this link: membership@ccnneighbors.com
 
Board Only Serves on Nominating Committee:
The purpose of the nominating committee is for the Board to look for members who may want to serve on the Board. The nominating committee makes recommendations to the Board and to the CCNNA membership for approval of qualified candidates for open positions on the Board of Directors.  The Board terms are 3 years each.  Residents are encouraged to serve on the Board as and when their interest and time allows. A slate of Board candidates are presented to the General Supporting membership for approval at each annual meeting as provided in the bylaws.
