Volunteering

Bromwell Elementary Volunteers:

Bromwell Elementary School is seeking CCNNA volunteers to become important resources to their teachers and students. They offer several opportunities to help from library, music and art helpers, beautification and gardening, technology, and lost and found helpers, to book fairs and Read-a-Thons. The staff has a strong belief that volunteers are an invaluable resource. Click here to see their flyer.

Food For Thought:
Food for Thought Denver helps students and their family who may not have enough food to eat, especially on weekends. The group raises funds to provide weekend food bags (aka: PowerSacks) to 79 public schools in Denver. They are looking for volunteers (individual or corporate) every Friday to fill PowerSacks with non-perishable food items to feed a family of four for the weekend. The bags are distributed to students on Friday afternoons to take home. Visit their website: Childhood Hunger Denver | Food For Thought (foodforthoughtdenver.org)

Salvation Army Christmas Project:
A very popular volunteer event for CCNNA  is the annual Christmas project with the Denver Salvation Army preparing holiday boxes of clothes, food, and toys for those in need. The event was held on Saturday, December 10th. Cherry Creek North joined with Lowry and each neighborhood is limited to 25 volunteers. To register or for more information contact Wayne New, newleeway@gmail.com.

Snow Angels:
Snow Angels assist Denver residents in need of assistance shoveling snow from their sidewalks and driveways during the winter months. Those in need may be older adults, neighbors living with a disability, residents who are temporarily ill, and those physically unable to shovel. Volunteers are needed to help these residents avoid fines for non-compliance of clearing pedestrian walkways in front of homes. To volunteer or learn more, visit their website by clicking here.
